Goal A: Complete Communities

A complete community has a variety of government services, housing, transportation, shopping, entertainment, employment, and recreational options. Just how all these are put together in terms of the number, size and distance of each of these components may change based on the type of community, but a rule of thumb is that a complete community is one where you can meet most of your basic needs.

I know there’s an initiative to put some vacant lots to use, but I’ve never seen details published anywhere. I’d like to see more options for landowners who would be open to temporary uses of land. I have a vacant lot downtown that I will not be building on for several more years, and I’d be happy to turn it over for community use, but there would have to be a system for offering that up, as well as liability protection for me as the landowner.
